Criminal

Sumita predominantly defends in all areas of general crime including serious crime, although she does undertake some prosecution work. She has been instructed on cases of robbery, sexual assaults, dishonesty offences, money laundering, wounding/inflicting GBH,  threats to kill, possession with intent to supply all classes of drugs, importation of drugs and confiscation proceedings. She recently defended in a 4 week trial on an allegation of conspiracy to steal, which involved a Romanian gang conspiring to steal from ATM machines. She has been instructed as junior counsel on an allegation of serial rape.

Civil

Sumita’s civil practise involves work in the areas of housing, landlord and tenant, immigration, personal injury and family including advocacy and advising.
